Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
The Bite Intel (thebiteintel.com) is a gear research site. We don't have user accounts, comments, a newsletter or any forms, so we don't ask you for personal information. This page explains what is collected when you visit, by us and by the third parties whose services the site uses, and what choices you have.
Amazon Associates and affiliate links
The Bite Intel is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
Our links to Amazon carry our Associates tracking ID. When you click one and go to Amazon, Amazon can place or recognize cookies in your browser and collect information directly from you to attribute purchases to our site. Amazon and other advertisers may serve content and advertisements, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on visitors' browsers. We receive reports from Amazon about orders and earnings that come from our links; they don't tell us who you are. How Amazon handles your data is covered by the Amazon.com Privacy Notice.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes the technical data your browser sends with each request (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See the Vercel Privacy Policy.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies. Vercel identifies a visit with a hash created from the incoming request and discards it after 24 hours, and we only see aggregated statistics: pages viewed, referring site, country and region, device type, operating system and browser. We also record an anonymous event when someone clicks a "Check Price on Amazon" button (which button and which link), so we know which guides are useful. Details are in Vercel's Web Analytics privacy documentation.
Pinterest tag
Our pages load the Pinterest tag, a script from Pinterest that tells Pinterest when its users visit the site, so we can measure visits that come from Pinterest. The tag can set or read cookies and sends Pinterest information such as the page you visited and your browser. Pinterest uses this under the Pinterest Privacy Policy, including for ad measurement and personalization. If you have a Pinterest account, you can stop Pinterest using information from other sites for ads in your Pinterest privacy and data settings. Pinterest says it honors the Global Privacy Control signal for residents of certain U.S. states.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking third-party cookies stops the Pinterest tag's cookies; the site works the same without them.
- Turn on Global Privacy Control in a browser or extension that supports it.
- Manage interest-based ads from Amazon at amazon.com/adprefs.
- Opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative.
If you email us, we keep your message and address only to reply and keep a record of the conversation. We don't add you to any list and don't sell or share it. Ask us to delete it at any time.
Children
The Bite Intel is written for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. The only personal information we hold is email you send us. For data collected by Amazon, Vercel or Pinterest, use the links above to contact them directly.
Changes
If we add or change a service that collects data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
